Our President, Brigadier James Richardson, MBE, at the Memorial before the Dedication.

The Polar Bear Memorial extension at Wuustwezel, dedicated October 21st 2007 and unveiled by Brigadier James Richardson, MBE, the Association President and Colonel-Pilot de Wilde representing King Albert of Belgium.  The regimental cap badges are encapsulated in clear acrylic and housed in a hardwood frame behind an acrylic sheet.  The project team was led by Guido van Wassenhove, Chairman of the Belgian Branch.  The PBA co-ordinator was our Treasurer, Dennis Dimond.  Jamy Ltd of Godmanchester produced the acrylic tiles under the supervision of Allison Tarrier.  The detailed construction of the extension was carried out by craftsmen from Wuustwezel Council.

The Royal British Legion Youth Band, Brentwood leads the parade of Polar Bear veterans, members of the British and Belgian Branches of the Association and the people of Wuustwezel to the Polar Bear Monument.
